Getting Rich Right

I’m Dr. John Thornton, founder of Getting Rich Right, where I help Christians build financial plans for God’s glory instead of their own. My TEDx talk, Flipping Rich, YouVersion bible study, Jesus’ Terrible Financial Advice: Eight Day Devotional, and biblical financial literacy project for Christian high schoolers (ACCU) and life coaches (ICCI) are innovative ways I’ve used to teach Christians to use wealth to fulfill the Great Commandments and Great Commission for God’s glory. I am also a Business Contributor to The Christian Post.

DR. JOHN THORNTON is a CPA with a Ph.D. in Accounting from Washington State University. His book, Jesus' Terrible Financial Advice (Moody Publishers), was Amazon's #1 release on Christian Stewardship in January 2017. A nationally recognized scholar and speaker, he has held faculty positions at the U.S. Air Force Academy, Washington State University, and most recently at Azusa Pacific University, where he launched the LP and Timothy Leung School of Accounting and served as APU’s first endowed chair. His scholarship has been published in several top academic journals, and he served as the American Accounting Association’s Chair of Professionalism and Ethics, and the AAA Chair of the Public Interest Section. He is married to Alyssa with three sons, Joshua, Benjamin, and Jacob.
